Our Digital Media Design department held an engaging event, Monocon 2022 that brought students and lecturers together to participate in activities outside of their classrooms. The event also set the stage for renowned industry experts to share their experience based on their successful careers. One of them was Michael Chuah, an NFT Artist, Toy Designer, and Comic Book Artist. Michael explained the evolution of technology and its transition from the pre-internet stage to what it is now. He talked about the vast opportunities in blockchains that DMD students could venture into such as creating digital collectibles, comics and graphic novels. The entire session was informative as he gave the students a step by step process on setting up an account as well as uploading their works as NFTs.
